Father's Day Coaster Album
With Mother's Day gone for this year, I start thinking toward Father's Day. I'm still working on cards, but I thought I'd share a coaster album that I did for my dad a few years ago. It's all CTMH product from about four years back. The title is made from the now retired "Typewriter Keys" and the paper is the Floral Tapestry collection. The pictures are all of me as a baby/toddler and my parents. To my knowledge, he still keeps this on his desk at work and receives many compliments on it. ;-)

I didn't want to make this too bulky, so I chose just a few shots that would lend themselves well to a round cutout. All the backs of the coasters are covered in Twilight and distressed with ink. The fronts are double matted with varying embellishments. They are all punched at the top and put on a binder ring. Wrap different small lengths of ribbon around the binder ring and it's all done. Hope you enjoyed it!
Blessings

Graduation Cards
My son's girlfriend is graduating from high school this weekend. This is a great multi-purpose card that I was able to easily personalize just for her!
Jackie is very much an athletic scholar and takes pride in her school colors, so I used their colors of red & blue with a bit of black accent.

Cut (C) from black cardstock. Using the same color as your accent strip, cut your quote base (D). This will give you a 1/8" black border. Adhere D to C. Do NOT adhere to the base (A) yet!!
Choose a quote. I found some good ones here. Print it on nice paper or hand write it on nice paper. You may have to print a few samples on plain paper before you have it formatted to fit on a 2 1/4 x 3 3/4" rectangle. Once you have it formatted, print it out on the good paper (I used linen resume paper) and cut to the dimensions. Adhere to D/C. Use an accent brad (red) in three corners, as shown.
Cut the two Grad Cap pieces from Black Cardstock. Assemble them by putting the diamond piece on top of the bottom piece as shown and glue. You will cover about half of the bottom piece and have a dimensional look. Wrap about 3" of black floss around the head of a black brad and tie (giving you two 1.5" strands.) Dampen and slightly twist together. Put the brad in the center of the diamond as shown.
Adhere your complete cap to the fourth corner.
Using pop dots, adhere the completed quote piece to the center of your front. Carefully adhere the entire piece to the front of the card. Trim as needed.

For the inside: I chose another saying, this one is an appropriate scripture from the Bible. I printed it on white vellum, but you can use any paper. Cut to 2 1/2 x 4 1/2" and adhere to E. Place accent eyelets (blue) in the corners as shown. Adhere to the upper center of the inside, leaving yourself enough room to write. Oops...I over-wrote and had to actually "sign" it at the top!! :-/
For her initials (JHC) and the year (2010) I printed them out to size on plain white paper with an appropriate color and carefully cut each one out. You can download the font free from here. Adhere as shown. I hand wrote "Class of" above "2010."

You can embellish this even more, however, I chose to keep this one simple and straight-forward. Guide is 4/inch on 8.5 x 11 paper. Feel free to use the guide and share with others!

Mother's Day Card
Hello there! Mother's Day was a bit earlier this year than I had thought it would be...oops! I got caught last Saturday night working till about 1 am doing Mother's Day cards for my DM and MIL so I could get them in the mail to arrive in time. I found this lovely Tri-Shutter card that is unique yet easy to learn. I found the best directions were by Bonnie Szwalkiewicz on her Craftiblog. Mine is made with More to Adore from CTMH with a saying that I printed off my computer.
In personalizing this, I found an appropriate Mother's Day quote and printed it and the "Happy Mother's Day" on coordinating paper. I distressed the edges with ink before adhering them to the card. Make sure you leave enough room under the quote when you cut it out for signing the card! ;-) I used a couple tabs and layered a bunch of flowers for embellishment, however, you can get as fancy or as simple as you want with this design.
